I've just walked through the door, thorougly fucked over and pissed off after watching yet below par performance delivered by my beloved Kanari-fuglene.
I am solely tempted to write a long tirade about certain players and their lack-of fundamental skills, but in all honesty... the problem lies much deeper than that.
The fact remains that this thread is not a knee-jerk reaction after one match. But after a series of below par performances...
The fact remains that we have no money to spend. Because all of our money has already been used up. And extremely poorly at that. Nordlie spent like a drunk sailor in a whorehouse, but Berg has also had an opportunity to sign a series of players.
So.... I'd like to ask the following questions:
1) Rather than saying "Fjøra" or "Uday" or "Berg".... who the fuck evaluated and now evaluates the players prior to their signings ???
2) Our much "valued" production line from Africa has produced one jewel (Nosa) and one promising player (Ujah) of whom I have high hopes for. The others are sub-par. With the entire cost of all scouting, all other costs in terms of housing, legal fees, percentages to agents and no doubt endless sell-on clauses, is this cheaper than our own "Norwegian" production line?
3) The squad is down to the bare-bones. Injuries, player sales, etc. What is the clubs long-term strategy? In what direction is the club going? Are we going to keep the current squad and just bring a shed-load more Africans over on trial in the hope that we hit a bulls-eye? Are we going to look towards Iceland after the success of Logi and Siggi? Or are we going to bite the bullet and bring through our youngsters. Because at the moment we seem to be treading water...
At the moment, I see the same 12,13,14 players game-in, game-out regardless of performance.... what message does that send?
