Uwe keen on Blue link-up
FORMER City idol Uwe Rosler is determined to use his newly-acquired position as a manager to forge closer links with the Blues.
Rosler, who has fought off cancer in the last year, will take over the reins at Norwegian club Lillestrom in November and wants to talk to City boss Kevin Keegan about a tie up between the two clubs.
"I am hoping that I might soon have some contact with City," he said. "I am thinking about perhaps players being loaned to each other's clubs and to give City the option of signing our players.
"Maybe we could get some young talent from Manchester who needs experience and first team football. I will try and get in touch with City and Kevin Keegan to have a word with him and see if we can work something out."
This will be 35-year-old Rosler's first step into full time coaching and he admits he is keen to break new ground.
Dream
"Basically it is a dream come true for me," he said. "I was one of five candidates on the list for the job and I had four meetings before I successfully convinced the club I was the man for the job. It's a big opportunity for me and I am really excited and looking forward to it."
The German striker paid his first visit to Eastlands towards the end of last season and hopes to be back during the coming campaign.
"I always loved Maine Road but when I saw the new ground and the facilities I knew it was necessary for City to move on and be able to compete with the best," he added. "I am really happy that the club stayed up."
Rosler believes Keegan will turn things around this season and that the manager's name is still a big attraction for players across Europe.
